Thanks and Praise to our Music Family
With love and great appreciation to the thousands who enjoy The
Atlanticare Concerts on the Beach in Somers Point every Friday, we
send you our most sincere thanks and praise.
It was a great season with 14 concerts and 20 performances from June
14th until September 6th, 2024 and we look forward to another great
season together in 2025 in our 32nd anniversary season of the beach
concerts.
Nancy and I are very proud we have been able to grow the series into
a diversified culturally enriching and good time part of our lives
we have shared over 20 years that we have led the beach concert
committee.
During that time our beach concert budget has increased in size, ten
times, without the use of taxpayer dollars as we rely on the
sponsorship, grant money, and contributions we receive from all of
you.
While we dearly miss the brilliance and skillful administration of
Wes Swain, who guided us deftly through most of those years, we are
grateful to City Administrator Jason Frost, Mayor Dennis Tapp,
Police Chief Robert Somers, Public Works Director Guy Martin and all
of the city officials, especially City Council President Janice
Johnston.
Along with all of us on the committee, we must especially thank our
newest member Michael Reilly, for all that he does, providing
hundreds of hours of very special technically skilled and diligent
service to the committee as a stellar volunteer; and our phenomenal
photographer and hard working social media volunteer, John Loreaux.
The true nature, complexity and scope of this concert series, which
is repeatedly recognized nationally and adored regionally because of
the presentation of some of the greatest world class international
touring artists and the very best local and regional musical artists
(at almost a 50/50% ratio) can best be exemplified by looking at the
summertime lives of two gifted, talented and incredibly hard working
women, Nancy Marotta and Terri Vizzone, who work in their
professional capacity giving their expertise and skills, for which
they are compensated elsewhere. They readily and lovingly volunteer
their efforts to The City of Somers Point and The Beach Concerts
during the course of hundreds of hours of service.
20 performances during the course of 14 concerts of this caliber do
not simply happen.
There are so many issues and problems to confront and resolve; and
we would just like to say that we are thankful to the thousands of
people who recognize our efforts and continue to rate us nationally
at the very top of organizations producing world class, free
concerts at the Jersey Shore or anywhere!
You have helped put us at the top and we will show our gratitude by
continuing to give you our very best efforts and more stellar
performances.
Thank You
